A native Okanagan resident, Karen delights in the endless photo opportunities found right here in the valley. She is a self-taught photographer who has taken a few digital enhancement courses (in Adobe Photoshop) along the way. This has opened her eyes to the creative and abstract possibilities in the digital art world; extending her passion from photographing reality and turning it into a delightful mystery. She wants viewers of her pieces to ask, “Is this a painting or a photograph?”

Karen has her artwork digitally printed on canvas and then adds acrylic texture directly onto the canvas to create a three-dimensional effect. Her favourite subjects are floral close-ups and capturing wood and metal objects that have been exposed to the ravages of nature’s elements and time. Many of her works have been published and exhibited in galleries.
