Angela Hook

Angela was born and raised in Penticton. She grew-up riding horses; continuing to have a heart for them throughout her adult life. Armed with a digital camera she is often found roaming through pastures in search of the perfect moment with an equine friend.

“Lately I have been visually documenting my own personal love affair with horses,” says Angela. “Observing these amazing and beautiful creatures in their natural environment is one of life’s greatest pleasures for me: no posing, no portraits, just bits and pieces of what makes a horse a horse. That’s what I like to capture—glimpses of their magical world and how it crosses over into ours.”

With a Bachelor of Design from Alberta’s College of Art Angela has explored many different mediums including both traditional and digital art forms. A career in graphic design has allowed her to become proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator and Flash animation—her tools of work and play! She also expresses herself in a tangible three-dimensional world through the use of wire as a linear element. Angela’s unique equine wire sculptures are collected worldwide.
