A self-taught artist, Will began with sketching caricatures of famous people and local personalities. Soon his humorous pencil sketches of horses and their riders began to appear regularly in an American equestrian magazine. Attending the 2001 Cowboy Cartoonist International Convention in Sandpoint Idaho, he met and had a personal art lesson
from the famous cowboy artist Ben Crane. With new found confidence and inspiration he added watercolour to his sketches, continuing to develop and master his craft.
Will likes to introduce a dynamic tension to hold the viewers’ interest. He feels that the viewers need to ask how is this going to be resolved; adding a level of interest that many beginning artists fail to capture. Will states, “I don’t want people to be indifferent to my work, they should either
love it or hate it.”
