Larry Hunter

Larry has worked as a freelance commercial artist for over 30 years and attended the Vancouver School of Art ( now known as the Emily Carr Institute ) and opened his first studio, Ocean Graphics in WhiteRock, BC, specializing in airbrush art and design. He moved from the coast, bringing his family to Penticton in 1995 to enjoy the South Okanagan lifestyle.

With an extensive background in commercial art, Larry has worked in a variety of styles; using acrylics on canvas and the computer and illustration software to create his artwork. Though he says, “I still prefer to create my initial images by hand, on my wonderful sixty year-old drafting table, which I found in a downtown Vancouver alley many years ago. There’s nothing quite like a good old pencil and some paper to keep ideas fresh.”

Larry is known for his amazing, sometimes giant-sized, murals throughout BC and Alberta. And the line-up of some of his more prominent clients include: Van Morrison, Bryan Adams, Dire Staits, Harley Davidson, Disney, Molsons and Ironman Canada.
